1:1 Tutors Required from September!

Mansfield and surrounding areas

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for experienced Teachers who are looking to support pupils on a 1:1 basis from September 2021. Many of the pupils are working at below expected levels and may present with challenging behaviour as a result of adverse childhood experiences. Pupils may also be disengaged from their education due to a lack of positive school experiences, childhood trauma and constant placement moves throughout their upbringing. 

We are looking for tutors who can build nurturing, stable relationships with these hard to reach young people, helping to bridge the gaps in their education and act as a positive role model for them. 

About the Role:

  • 1:1 Tuition for SEND and LAC pupils with a broad range of SEND including SEMH, ASC, ADHD
  • Flexible timetables depending on your availability - minimum of 6 hours per week, maximum of 25 hours per week
  • Planning and delivering cross-curricular work for disengaged pupils at all ages and ability levels
  • Building a positive relationship, acting as a positive role model and dealing with safeguarding concerns effectively and appropriately
  • Working effectively with foster carers, social workers, residential staff and Local Authority clients

Who we are looking for:

  • People who are comfortable lone working and communicating with local authorities and care home staff
  • Previous experience working with LAC students and students with Attachment Disorder, PDA and Childhood Trauma
  • Tutors who can plan, produce, and teach Functional Skills English and Maths, or GCSE subjects depending on student academic levels

Requirements:

  • Must be Fully Qualified or have extensive teaching experience across different settings
  • Previous experience teaching KS3 and KS4 students
  • Experience of teaching and working with children with ASC and SEMH
  • Child workforce DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel)
