Would you be interested in supporting children and young people as a 1:1 tutor outside of mainstream schools?
This Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) tutor role will be ideal if you are a qualified teacher, teaching assistant, SEN 1:1 and are looking for some flexible work.
This SEMH tutor role involves:
- Working with children and providing face to face support to children at their homes or a local area e.g., a local library.
- Planning resources around the child’s needs, this could be on developing their knowledge in Maths and English or educational learning through play.
- Skills and experience on keeping the child engaged with task and ensuring they can access the learning.
- Managing and implementing a range of behaviour strategies.
The location for this would vary dependent on the need of the pupil but would be pre-agreed prior to commencement of the tuition. All pupils for this role however will be based in the Daventry area which has extensive transport links by bus and train.
What we are looking for in a SEMH tutor:
- Able to plan and deliver engaging core and cross-curricular engaging sessions.
- Applying skills to get pupils education back up to speed.
- Checking that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide feedback.
- Experience with working with children with challenging behaviour.
- SEN experience – SEMH
Working hours are between Monday to Friday, 09:00 -16:00 approximately.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
