I am looking for a tutor to support an LAC pupil in Year 9  in the Walsall area (WS6 postcode), until the end of the academic year. She requires tuition in English, Maths and Science for 12 hours per week (4 x 3 hour sessions ideally)

She does not present with any risks in particular and should engage in education, however she does have a lot of gaps in her education so will need someone to help her catch up.

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and experience working with pupils who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties
  • Resilient to dealing with challenging behaviour 
  • Experienced working with Looked After Children
  • Nurturing and patient approach
  • Able to work face to face in the home environment, engaging professionally with residential care staff, Social Workers, Local Authority clients and other professionals.
  • Able to plan and deliver cross-curricular engaging lessons at KS3 level
  • Confident to deal with safeguarding concerns following correct protocols and policies
  • Committed to this extremely vulnerable young person for as long as is required - continuity and consistency is key so we are looking for reliable tutors

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
