1:1 Tutor (English, Maths & Science – KS3/GCSE)

Location: Selly Oak & surrounding areas, Birmingham
Salary: Up to £29 per hour
Type: Part-time / Flexible

About TP Tutors

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, provides bespoke 1:1 and small group tuition to young people unable to attend mainstream education due to SEN, SEMH, challenging behaviour, being Looked After, medical needs, or school anxiety.

Role Overview

We’re seeking patient, kind, and understanding tutors to deliver 1:1 sessions in students’ homes, local libraries, or schools. You’ll support KS3 and GCSE students in English, Maths, and Science.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions

  • Create a supportive, safe learning environment

  • Identify learning gaps using EdPlace assessments

  • Record progress, attendance, and reports via LEAP

  • Report safeguarding concerns promptly

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience with SEN/SEMH students

  • Passion for supporting young people

  • Understanding of neurodiverse learning needs

  • Reliable, patient, and well-organised

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
