Job Title: EAL Teaching Assistant
Location: Fulford, York
Hours: 0830-1530 Monday to Friday; Full Time or Part Time considered

Teaching Personnel are working with a partnership School in Fulford, York to appoint an EAL Teaching Assistant. You will be supporting a Secondary aged pupil who is native Brazilian and needs support to communicate within lessons and daily School life. The School is graded Good by Ofsted and provide an alternative source of education for Primary and Secondary aged pupils who are unable to access mainstream education, due to temporary or permanent exclusion, cannot cope with a full time education timetable due to SEMH, Anxiety or ASC or are unable to communicate effectively in English.

Minimum Requirements for the position of EAL Teaching Assistant:

  • Confident speaker of Portuguese
  • Effective written and verbal communicator
  • Be a team player and be able to liaise with other staff members and local authorities
  • Have experience within education or as working as a translator; Teacher or Teaching Assistant
