Teaching Personnel are working alongside the head of a client behaviour provision. Together we are seeking a passionate and committed Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) teacher to join the provision and make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

As a PRU teacher, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality, individualized education to students who often have complex and challenging needs. You will work closely with a team of professionals, including social workers, counsellors and health professionals, to ensure the students are supported and their needs are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, delivering and assessing individual learning programmes for students
  • Creating a safe and positive learning environment
  • Building positive relationships with students, their families, and external agencies
  • Monitoring and tracking student progress
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and contributing to student reviews

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant teaching qualification (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in a PRU or in an alternative educational setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills with a calm and compassionate approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students who have complex and challenging needs
  • A commitment to meeting the educational and pastoral needs of the students
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
