Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of highly successful secondary schools in Northamptonshire, who are looking to recruit Cover Supervisors that are interested in starting a career within teaching.

The role of the Cover Supervisor plays an essential part in the daily management of a school. Cover Supervisor roles involve taking general cover lessons and managing behaviour as appropriate to the school's behaviour policy. This is a great way to take your first steps into teaching within a secondary school environment.

You will need to be a model professional that gives their all and is focused purely on improving the outcomes of the young people you will work with on a day to day basis. Whether you are a recent graduate looking to secure a PGCE placement at a later date or an experienced cover supervisor looking for more regular work Teaching Personnel can help you.

As a Cover Supervisor you will need to be flexible and open to working both full and part time.

The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills and be comfortable interacting with students between the ages of 11-16. Having an interest in joining the teaching profession is beneficial as Teaching Personnel offer additional CPD courses to help further your career development.

We also welcome applications from sports/drama/music coaches looking for additional roles, as well as Fully Qualified Teachers looking to step down from a full teaching role.

Your main responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor will involve covering lessons from within your field of expertise. The role will also involve supervising the planning and preparation of learning materials as well as building strong relationships with students and colleagues at the school.

The ideal candidate will…

  • Be educated to degree level, ideally in a core subject (English, Maths, Science)
  • Have some experience of working with children/young adults
  • Be dedicated to improving the outcomes of young people
