Teacher of Design and Technology for summer and Autumn Term 2019

The school is a high performing secondary school based in Southampton. They are a popular, over subscribed school whose value added performance score considered to be outstanding in their last inspection.

The school are looking for a part time, temporary DT Teacher to join them at the start of the summer term through to the end of the Autumn Term. Technology is a very successful subject and proves to be a very popular subject in the school which boasts consistently high results. Results 2018 saw 92% of pupils achieving the equivalent of A* - C grades, 35% achieved A*/A. The department is a very supportive one where all members of the team share best practice and resources to ensure the consistency of teaching and learning throughout the school.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be available to work up to 4 days per week
  • Have a specialism in Graphics or experienced in teaching it to KS4
  • Have experience of Resistance Materials and Textiles would be useful
  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status or NQT status

The school offers a wide range of extra curricular activities across all departments including after school clubs, sporting teams, author visits, The Duke of Edinburgh, UK and abroad trips. A willingness to participate in relevant extra curricular activities is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
