Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Teaching Assistants who are experienced in supporting students with a range of SEND for schools across Newcastle upon Tyne. We have various roles available to commence ASAP with the possibility of permanent contracts.

Ideally applicants will have a Team Teach qualification or be willing do complete the training. Experience with ASC and severe learning difficulties (SLD) in a SEN school setting in either Primary or Secondary would be beneficial. Additional qualifications such as Moving & Handling are desired but not mandatory. We would also welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills such as Youth Workers or Support Workers as well as recent graduates.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 3 months experience supporting students with ASC and SLD in a mainstream or SEN setting
  • Team Teach Qualification
  • Moving & Handling or Personal Care
  • NCFE/CACHE Level 2 Supporting and Learning in Schools
  • Patient and nurturing manner
