Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Teaching Assistants on behalf of our client primary schools in the Blaenau Gwent, Newport, Torfaen and Caerphilly area.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be assisting the teacher who can work with pupils of all ages and abilities within a classroom setting in the Newport, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen or Caerphilly area. If you have relevant experience or just even have a real passion to contribute to the learning environment, register with us; we have work for you!

We want someone who:

  • Supporting pupils with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Supporting pupils with English as a second language
  • Has knowledge and understanding of the different social, cultural and physical needs of pupils
  • Has an interest in how young people learn and behave
  • Working one-to-one or with small groups of pupils
  • Preparing the classroom for lessons
  • Tidying up and keeping the classroom in good order
  • Creating displays of pupils' work
  • Helping on school outings or at school events

Highlights of a Teaching Assistant Position:

  • Teaching Assistants wanted in Blaenau Gwent, Newport, Torfaen and Caerphilly;
  • Opportunity for flexible work;
  • Pay rate up to £58 per day, depending on experience;
  • Immediate start available;
  • Work in a range of English and Welsh medium primary schools;

In order to be suitable for this role you will need;

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK;
  • Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided);
  • Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales);
  • Provide at least two professional or character references;
  • Be available to interview and/or trial asap;
  • Be available to start on short notice.
