Teaching Personnel are currently looking for graduates with a passion for a career in education to join secondary schools as Teaching Assistants across the Stockport area – Stretford, Sale, Altrincham, Urmston, Carrington.

Candidate requirements for this position:

• Degree educated in core subjects such as Maths, Science, English, Humanities as well as Physical Education, Psychology etc
• Looking to gain experience to support a PGCE application r a career in classroom or vulnerable student support
• Commitment to a career in education
• Child Workforce DBS certificate on the update service/ eligibility to apply for one
• Suitable school/ employment/ character references with no safeguarding or disciplinary concerns

The role of a Teaching Personnel Teaching Assistant is full time, generally working 8:30 – 3:00 five days a week depending on school hours. Graduate Teaching Assistants will work with regular classroom teachers to help plan and deliver lessons and support students during class who may be struggling with set tasks and instructions. Teaching Assistants will work mostly to support students vulnerable to falling behind their peers, including SEN and SEMH students as well as students from youth work/ residential care backgrounds and students displaying challenging behaviour.

• Supporting students in class and in 1-1/ small group support sessions
• Supporting SEN, SEMH students, students displaying challenging behaviour, students from youth work/ residential care backgrounds
• Weekly wages paid a week in arears, up to GBP350 a week
