Job description

We are currently looking for an organised, hard working individual who is interested in working as an SEN Teaching Assistant. Our school in Maidenhead is a Special Free School for children and young people with a primary diagnosis of autism. The school opened in September 2015, it currently caters for a maximum of 58 pupils between the ages of 4 and 13 years.

Some key factors about the school:

  • Maximum of 8 pupils per class.
  • National curriculum - modified to suit the individual needs of each child/young person
  • Individual plans for each pupil setting targets and monitoring achievements in Behaviour, Academic work, Social and Life Skills and Enrichment activities
  • Baseline adult to pupil ratio of 1:2

Key aspects of working within the industry are creating a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment. You are there to help children to achieve their goals as well as supporting them within their daily routine.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
