Secondary Teaching Assistants required in Southampton

Teaching Personnel are working with Secondary Schools and Colleges based in the Southampton area where there is a high need for Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, 1:1 Support and Small Group Work Education Assistants.

If you would like the opportunity to engage and support pupils in their education then consider Teaching Personnel to find the right school for you. Within supporting pupils, Teaching assistants are expected to help with the pupils learning and develop, assist with Mild SEN needs and work effectively the department and class teacher.

A typical Teaching Assistants day consists of supporting the class teacher through core subjects, generally working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis with those who are finding it difficult to focus and achieve their target grades. If you have subject specialism the school may utilise you in those subjects, particularly if it is English, Maths or Science.

Registering with Teaching Personnel can be quick if you are determined to succeed. We require you to have a child workforce DBS registered on the update service and can support your application if you do not currently have one. You will meet one of our recruitment consultants who will find out your strengths and be able to talk you through the schools in your area and the kind of work you could expect to receive.
