Teaching Assistant
Salford

Start date: ASAP
Contract type: Full-time, temporary
Salary: up to £1200 per month

Teaching Personnel now an exciting opportunity for a number of experienced Teaching Assistants to join our partner school based in Salford, in Greater Manchester. Our partner school is a highly reputable 226-pupil mainstream school with a sixth form. The university technical college is funded by the state and educates girls and boys between the ages of 14 and 18. The school resides in a four-floor building and has huge film and radio stations, as well as gaming laboratories. The students have the luxuries of free wifi, a rooftop football pitch and soft-seating work stations.

Due to a growth within the department, the school are now looking for number of experienced teaching assistants to join the schools SEN department and support across the school.

The school organises the curriculum in a way that will help all students learn, whether they may need help with communication and interaction; cognitive and learning issues; emotional and social development; or sensory and physical needs.

Responsibilities of this role will be to:

  • Have responsibility for personal and pastoral support for pupils developing good attitudes
  • To develop a good, positive relationships with young people in order to remove barriers to learning and to encourage progress
  • To engage constructively with young people and to relate to them and to their needs
  • To encourage young people to develop their skills and to help them to identify problems and to find solutions
  • To work closely with teaching staff to provide additional support for target pupils through preparation of materials and monitoring of pupil work

The successful Teaching Assistants would be required after the February half term until the end of the academic year (July 2019). Whilst this is a temporary position in the first instance, the school are looking to recruit permanently and therefore there may be the option to start on a temp to perm contract.
