X2 Teaching Assistants needed for a large Primary school in Accrington

**Immediate start**

General TA (Year 1) & Behaviour support (Year 5)

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a large school in Accrington who are looking for a general Teaching Assistant to work in the Year 1 class, as well as a 1:1 Support Assistant to work with a pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH) as well as other difficulties including suspected ADHD and Autism. These roles are available due to gaps in staffing and would be to start as soon as possible.

This school is looking for enthusiastic team players who enjoy a challenge. Having experience in supporting children who display challenging behaviour or have a variety of SEN is not essential but beneficial to fully flourish within this role. When speaking with the Head Teacher she has stated how important it is to have the right personality within this school.

Both roles:

Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 3:30)

Salary: £9.50 - £11.50 per hour

Start date: Tuesday 3rd September 2019

End date: Friday 17th July 2020 - with a view to being put on a school contract

Year 1 - General Teaching Assistant

  • Experience working with Key Stage 1 is essential
  • Sound Phonics knowledge, particularly the Letters & Sounds Scheme of work
  • You would be supporting lower attaining children which may involve interventions in the afternoon sessions

Year 5 - Behaviour support

  • Experience working within Key Stage 2 is essential
  • Experience of supporting a child on a 1:1 is desirable
  • You would need to be flexible as some elements of the school day would not be classroom based
  • Team Teach training is advantageous for this role. However, we run regular Team Teach courses to keep you up to date with current practice.
