Do you have experience as a Teaching Assistant with children with additional needs?

A specialised school in Slough (SL2) are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them on a full time basis. The school caters for Primary and Secondary aged pupils who have a range of additional needs such as Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, and Social, Physical and Sensory related difficulties. The school is located over two sites which accommodate the varying additional needs, and there are extensive facilities on site including facilities for speech, language, physio and occupational therapy activities which are fitted into daily life at the school.
The school has a child focused approach and believes in fitting the curriculum to the child by tailoring the school day to each pupil's specific needs. They are looking for individuals who are flexible and adaptable because of this. They are also looking for someone who will enable communication, physical, social and emotional development for each individual.

You will be:

Able to build positive relationships with both pupils and parents
Hardworking and committed to the school's values and ethos
Although it is not essential to have worked in a specialist school previously, you must have previous teaching experience and experience working with children with additional needs is preferred.
