Job description

  • School hours: 8:30 until 3:30
  • Job Types: Full-time and Part-time, Temporary
  • Salary: £60 to £75 a day
  • Immediate start!
  • For at least 2 terms

Teaching Personnel is currently looking for Teaching Assistants who have a passion for working with students! We have exciting new opportunities in Weston-Super-Mare, North Somerset this year to join a Special Educational Needs department of a Studio School (Years 10 to 13). The school is easily accessible from most areas of Bristol, North Somerset, South Wales (Close to the border), North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

You must be patient and confident but above all committed. As you will be working with vulnerable children, consistency is paramount!

Desired experience Required for the Teaching Assistant Job in Weston-Super-Mare

  • SEN experience in or out of a school setting (caring, youth work etc) OR
  • SEMH/ Challenging Behaviour OR
  • Learning Difficulties experience OR
  • Autism experience OR
  • Teaching Assistant and Learning Support experience OR

Duties of the Teaching Assistant Job in Weston-Super-Mare

  • Support pupils on a group and 1:1 basis with learning development, behaviour needs and pastoral support.
  • Help pupils reach their educational goals
  • Working with pupils with ASD, SEMH, learning difficulties, dyslexia and Supporting the class teacher dyspraxia.
  • Following learning and development plans
  • Follow safeguarding and behaviour management policies and procedures

Requirements needed for the Teaching Assistant job in Weston-Super-Mare

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Not being subject to lengthy notice periods (over a week) in current employment. Ideally you need to be immediately available
  • Access to a car or relatively reliable and regular public transport
  • GCSE in maths and English C or above or equivalent
