Teaching Assistant - Walthamstow

Job description

We are currently seeking a resilient teaching assistant to work in a special needs school in Walthamstow, working with pupils who have complex behavioural needs in a KS3 class. This will be working 1:1 with a pupil who has additional support needs and providing group support to students who have been excluded from mainstream school. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with pupils who have behaviour needs and be flexible, understanding to work with pupils who have social , emotional or behavioural needs.

Desired traits:

  • Must have previous experience working with challenging pupils or experience working in a PRU setting
  • Applications welcome from individuals with experience from Sports coaching , youth work, mental health facilities or primary behaviour setting
  • Must be able to work with pupils who may display volatile behaviours
  • Good behaviour management is essential
  • Provide employment references of working with children
  • Full time- term time 8.30am - 3.30pm
  • Immediate start
