Teaching Assistant to support Physical Disabilities

Job description

I’ am working on behalf of a Special Needs School that supports pupils from Early Years to Post 16. They cater for pupils with:

  • Social Emotional Mental Health Needs
  • Physical Disabilities
  • Speech and Language Needs
  • ADHD
  • Visual Impairments
  • Hearing Impairments
  • Down Syndrome

I’m assisting in the schools search for a Teaching Assistant to work with primary or secondary pupils with Physical Disabilities.

Successful Candidates

  • Experience with children and/or adults with Special Needs namely Physical Disabilities associated and Sensory Needs
  • Support in sensory games and activities
  • Background in Care Work and Support Work  
  • Comfortable assisting in personal care and feeding
  • Commit to further training to develop career within the school – Moving and Manual Handling
  • Hard working, approachable and nurturing
  • Enthusiastic, uses initiative  and engages with children
  • Completed a recent safeguarding course (desirable not essential training can be offered)
