Teaching Assistant in Poole

Teaching Personnel are working with a primary school in central Poole that are currently looking for staff to start ASAP.

The school cater for pupils aged 5-12 years in Key Stages 1-3. Pupils have a statement of special educational needs for behavioural, emotional and mental health difficulties. In addition, many pupils may also have other needs alongside this.

This Academy has highly trained staff which have high expectations of all pupils. There is a high staff to pupil ratio with an emphasis on developing emotional well-being and social skills.

The majority of the current vacancies are for Teaching Assistants to start ASAP. The ideal candidate would have previous experience working with similar needs or be passionate about working in this type of school. Candidates that are suited for this type of school tend to have experience in some of the following although these ARE NOT requirements;

  • Criminology
  • Youth/Community work experience
  • SEN experience
  • Residential support/care worker
  • Sports coaching
  • Team Teach
  • Youth Offending Services
  • Challenging behaviour within family
  • Mentoring
  • Teaching/Learning support Assistance
  • Psychology

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
