Job description

Teaching Assistants needed for our partner secondary school based in Stockport. This mixed comprehensive secondary school has students aged 11-16 and achieves well academically above borough and national averages. Large in size with around 1200 students on roll the school are looking for one or potentially 2 teaching assistant to work within their learning support team.

The teaching assistant post will be full time commencing in February until the end of the academic year in July. Initially starting on a temporary basis there is [potential for this to become a permanent position dependant on the schools staffing structure.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring graduate looking to gain school based experienced before starting a teacher training programme or someone with transferable skills from a coaching, youth work or health and social care background. They are looking for aspiring teaching assistants to support their students, who have educational health care plans and require additional learning support.

Located in the SK7 post code of Stockport the school has regular bus routes and a train station half a miles away for those on public transport. The school can also be located just off the A523 and A6. Working as a teaching assistant is highly rewarding, working with students on a 1:1 and small group basis, ensuring that they achieve expected levels of progress and are given the best possible learning experience.
