Teaching Assistant, St Helens

Job description

I am currently recruiting for a pupil referral unit in St Helens. This St Helens school is seeking to recruit teaching assistants with youth worker backgrounds to help support secondary aged pupils who have been excluded or at risk of exclusion from school. The school believe youth workers have the engaging personality to help support these young people who (as a result of individual barriers) are not able to work in a classroom with other children. In this role the teaching assistant will be expected to work both in school and around the local community to provide personalised support for the young people.

The ideal teaching assistant for this role will have a background in youth work and will therefore have the knowledge and ability to manage challenging behaviour in a way which still produces positive outcomes. Having a relevant qualification such as a youth and community work degree will also enhance your application.

The pay rate for this role is £8.41 per hour
