Teaching Assistant- SEN

Job description

This Special Educational Needs TA role is based in a Special Needs School. The school is for boys and girls with moderate or severe learning difficulties and a range of other additional needs including Autism. This is a full-time position at a fantastic school in a great area, with excellent transport links.

The Teaching assistant will be working with children aged between 7 and 19 years old. They will:

-Contribute to the management of pupil behaviour

-Support pupils during learning activities

-Promote social and emotional development of pupils

-Contribute to health and wellbeing of pupils

-Help pupils to develop literacy and numeracy skills

The school's ideal candidate Skills and abilities

*Experience in implementing a range of Teaching and Learning strategies.

·Experience working with challenging behaviour.

·Experience in Autism awareness, Makaton and Pecs would also be desirable.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
