Teaching Assistant SEN - Greenwich

A school in Greenwich is looking for a Teaching Assistant who is available immediately for a full time position

Are you a Teaching Assistant with experience in SEN Schools and seeking a supporting role in an overachieving school?

An SEN School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism and challenging behaviour.

The students have global delay and require assistance with feeding and changing, so you must be experienced in providing personal care.

The class comprises of 6 pupils, who you will be working with on a 1:1 basis, supervising during Numeracy, Literacy, Art classes, and activity/games sessions. The school has a sensory room, as well as a games room and an activity rooms, so it is well equipped to meet the needs of the pupils. There will be other teaching assistants working with you, alongside the teacher. Experience working with special needs pupils is a must. As it is a full time role you need to be available full time, long term.

To be put forward for this position you will be required to have the following:

• A naturally caring and supportive nature.
• Experience working with children with SEN.
• Immediate, full time, availability.
• A DBS on the updated service, or be willing to complete one asap.
• Have completed training relevant to this position (first aid, moving and handling, safeguarding, Makaton, PECS is desirable but not essential).
• Can provide excellent references from previous employment.

Performing well in this role offers the possibility of securing a permanent position with the school.
