Do you have experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour?

Are you looking for a new challenge in a unique educational environment?

I am looking for an exceptional youth worker to support pupils in a secondary Pupil Referral Unit in Bury. This school supports pupils who have found a mainstream educational environment challenging, and offers educational and pastoral support across several sites.

This schools provides a nurturing and supportive environment, following the national curriculum but also incorporating a host of vocational, pastoral and extra curricular activities. The ideal candidate will be a resilient and engaging individual, with experience supporting young people who may be reluctant to engage. Experience as a Sports Coach or Youth Worker is an ideal background, as is experience supporting pupils in a mainstream academic environment.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour
  • Resilient personality, and the ability to effectively build rapport
  • Child DBS on the update service, or a willingness to gain one
  • Driving licence is desirable
