Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant for a special school for pupils of secondary age. The young people at this school are diagnosed with severe or profound learning difficulties as well as/or intensive autism and complex learning difficulties.

As a teaching assistant your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher in implementing individual education plans
  • To assist with the range of education activities designed to meet the needs of the individual or small group of pupils to whom you are from time to time assigned.

  • To assist, whenever necessary, with personal hygiene, advice and guidance to pupils. This will include acting in the role of carer at times

  • To monitor and evaluate programmes on a daily basis

  • You will be jointly responsible for the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults at school, it is a requirement of this role that you adhere to all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
