Are you skilled at teaching functional skills and life skills?

We're looking for specialist Teaching Assistants in Salisbury to work flexibly with students with additional needs, to support them whilst they learn important life skills. Learning these skills is a huge part of the students becoming more confident and independent, and includes learning basics such as cooking and personal exchanges.

The lessons are delivered on a hands-on basis, ensuring all students are involved and engaged in lots of interactive activities.


  • Full and part-time graduates required
  • Providing pupils with additional support in small groups and/or on a 1:1 basis
  • Collaborating with the teacher to produce engaging teaching activities for pupils

What we need from you:

  • 2 suitable work based or educational references
  • Clear passion for working with young people and in the education sector
  • A DBS (Or be happy to apply for one of these during registration)
  • The ability to manage confrontation and challenging behaviour

As a teaching assistant you will be expected to support the students during their lessons and ensure you are advising them and teaching them the safest and most appropriate way possible to achieve success.

Some of the special educational needs you can expect to support will include autism and downs syndrome, amongst others, therefore a knowledge of these disabilities are preferred. All relevant qualifications and experience will be considered.
