Teaching Assistant role in Swansea Secondary school

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a Secondary school in Swansea that are looking to recruit a teaching assistant to work within their special resource base supporting children with additional learning needs. The special resource base is attached to the main school and caters for students with a variety of additional learning needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Aspergers, MLD and SPlD.

The role starts immediately and is guaranteed until the end of the academic year.

Key responsibilities of the role:

- Working on a 1:1 and small group basis with students supporting them in lessons

- Building positive relationships with students and ensuring their wellbeing

- Ensuring that students reach their full learning potential

- Reporting progress of the students to the SENCO

- Working with other staff members and relevant parties to plan learning schemes for the students
