Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working on behalf of a large, specialist school/college in St Helens that provide a happy and secure environment for children and adults with complex and severe learning disabilities which include little or no language abilities. The school are looking to employ Teaching Assistants on a temporary to permanent basis.
The school caters for students from the age of 2 to 18. A range of other services is also available to students including an all-inclusive sports facility, specialist therapy as well as staff with expertise in autism, multi-sensory impairments and behaviour management.


Students needs include Autism spectrum conditions, multi-sensory impairment, Hearing or visual impairment with additional needs, Profound and multiple learning disabilities, Complex physical disabilities, Cortical visual impairment, Additional medical needs including progressive and degenerative conditions.


We are looking for people that are flexible and can work on a day to day basis as well as people that would like long term work. You must have had solid experience working with children and/or young people with complex and severe learning disabilities including Autism. Additional training and experience such as Moving and Handling, Team-Teach, Peg feeding, PECS, Personal Care would be highly beneficial.


The pay rate for this role will be £8.41 per hour
