Teaching Assistant required in Southwark outstanding SEN school

Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit an outstanding practitioner to support children with special educational needs in an outstanding primary SEN school in Southwark.

If you are committed to the all round development of children with severe learning difficulties, complex needs and autism I would like to hear from you.

Details of the role:

  • Full time position starting asap
  • Long term role with the potential to become a permanent member of staff at this school
  • Support a key stage 1 class, working collaboratively with the class teacher and three other teaching assistants
  • Provide 1:1 support for 8 different children in the class, aiding their communication, sensory, social and academic development
  • Support the work of visiting Speech And Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists and SENSE representatives (deaf and blind support)

Experience of working with special needs is essential. You may also be required to assist with providing personal care - toileting and changing.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
