Teaching Assistant required in Blackburn

Job description

Teaching Personnel work closely with a Blackburn based SEN School which caters for pupils with special educational needs including; PMLD, SLD, ODD, Physical Disabilities, Autism and Global Delay. The School is smaller than average and is based in the Blackburn area with close links to the motorway and is easily accessible via public transport. The School caters for pupils aged between 11 - 17 year olds.

The candidate must be hard working, have experience supporting children and/or adults with special educational needs and be willing to provide personal care when required. The candidate must be looking for a long term, full time role and you must be happy to complete one voluntary day in School prior to the role starting so the Head Teacher can ascertain your suitability to the role.

The role will be full time from September and the candidates must be available to work from 8.40am - 3.20pm Monday - Friday. The role will require you to assist pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis but candidates may also be asked to lead lessons from time to time.

The successful candidate will benefit from:

- Negotiable pay rates £54 - 60 per day

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
