Teaching Assistant required in Blackburn

Are you a Teaching Assistant with experience working with pupils with SEN?

If so, Teaching Personnel work with a School based in the Blackburn area who require staff on an ad-hoc basis, the School provide education for secondary aged pupils with SEN, including, PMLD, Autism, ADHD, Physical Disabilities and ODD. The pupils in School are often learning at a lower level and provide 1:1 educational support and may often require personal care.

The School is based in Blackburn with close links to public transport, both train and bus. The School is smaller than average and currently has around 65 pupils on roll. The School has recently opened an FE department and currently hs around 7 FE pupils who have Autism, Learning Difficulties and ADHD.

Many of the pupils in School are non-verbal and therefore use PECS to communicate. The ideal candidate would have experience using different ways of communicating. The candidate must have a good understanding of Autism and experience working with children with SEN.

The successful candidate must be in a position to work on an ad-hoc supply basis, you will also be expected to undertake one voluntary day in School.

The pay will be between £50-60 per day dependant on experience and this role is likely to continue for the rest of the year.
