Teaching Assistant required for SEN School in Bradford

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SENTA) for an Outstanding Special School in Bradford. This is a temporary role, covering a maternity leave, until March 2010 in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

You will be responsible for the support of pupils aged between 3 and 19 with Special Educational Needs. Pupil needs include Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties and Speech, Language and Communication Needs. Due to the nature of pupil needs, you will also be required to assist with children's personal care needs.


The school is situated in the Heaton area of Bradford, hosting 120 pupils. The school believes in meeting the holistic needs of their pupils, and benefit from a resident Aromatherapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Physiotherapist, and Medical Team. You will work closely with this multi-disciplinary team to deliver a bespoke package for pupils, alongside support to access a differentiated curriculum.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience supporting individuals with additional needs in an education, health or care setting
- Experience of liaising with a multi-disciplinary team
- Enthusiasm and flexibility to support individuals with Special Educational Needs
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- Previous experience of delivering person-centred care plans.
