Teaching assistant required for Bury Provision

Job description

Our client organisation is a group of specialist provisions located across Bury and they are in need of Teaching assistants who can work in an outreach capacity across the various sites. The provision caters for young people with various social and emotional difficulties and as a result they can display very challenging behaviours. The school expects their Teaching assistants to managing challenging behaviours and enable the young people to remain engaged.

The mentors will need to go into school and work effectively, efficiently and use the right approach for each provision's students and as a result prior experience in these settings is imperative. This position is very much peripatetic, so the successful Teaching assistant will need to travel across site and work with the young people in the community.

Experience required:

- SEMH/PRU Experience

- Sports Coach

- Residential Support

- Mentoring

- Youth Work

Due to this position being peripatetic the successful Teaching assistant will need to drive. In addition, having a DBS registered on the update service will enable you to start ASAP.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
