Teaching Assistant Required for after February half term (BB5)

A Roman Catholic School in Accrington are looking to employ a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant for after the May Half Term, to support the Year 4 Class. The role will require you to deliver interventions to small groups of children who are working 'Below Age Related Expectations'. The successful candidate will be expected to provide high quality support in line with the KS2 Curriculum framework, specifically targeting Maths, Reading and Writing skills. A practitioner with phonics training is also desired. The Head Teacher has stressed she would like a support practitioner with 'excellent behaviour management' and a 'passion for working with young children'. The position is a temporary post until Easter with the potential to become permanent.

The school is in an easily accessible location with nearby bus routes and a train station. After their recent Ofsted inspection they received an overall 'Good' and the Head wants to keep up the positive morale around School. The Head Teacher has said the support staff are 'fantastic' and 'hard-working and positive team'. She is keen to implement a strong community spirit amongst staff and parents, as well as maintaining high standards for behaviour as well as academic development.

The salary is based on a 6.5 hour day, Monday to Friday, and depending on experience, this could vary between £8.40-£10.50 per hour. Additional salary may increase depending on the interest of welfare.
