Teaching Assistant - Primary

Job description

Are you looking for support work in a Primary setting?

We could have your perfect role!

Teaching Personnel are representing a 'Good' school in the South of Sheffield. They are currently seeking a L3 Teaching Assistant to support in EYFS/KS1. The school has a high intake of pupils diagnosed with Special Educational Needs, so we are looking for a patient and caring individual who can adapt their teaching style for the children in their care.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who can positively contribute to raising achievement in EYFS/KS1, working either 1:1 or with small groups. You will support the class teacher and deliver structured activities to support English, Phonics and Maths. You may work with children who have been identified as having Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis, so experience in this area would be desired. You will need to challenge and motivate children in your care, to reinforce self-esteem and encourage them to take part in whole class activities in a positive manner. There may be some children with behavioural issues, so being able to follow the schools behaviour policy and make use of school resources would be essential.

We would also welcome applicants for this Teaching Assistant role who have transferable skills, such as ex forces, sports coaches and Youth Workers.

Our Ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

  • CACHE L3 or degree educated
  • Experience working with children with children in EYFS/KS1
  • Familiar with current assessments
  • Experience taking their own phonics groups
  • Experienced delivering tailored interventions to small groups

In turn, Teaching Personnel can offer you;
