Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a PMLD experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of learning difficulties for a school in South Sheffield. The role is temporary initially with the possibility of it leading to a permanent contract and would be full time. The school is a 'Good' School and does have good transport links, so owning a car would not be essential.

Ideally applicants would have experience of supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties in an SEN or Mainstream school setting. The school also require applicants to have Moving & Handling or to be willing to receive the training. We are looking for someone who is happy to support on a 1:1 basis within a Year 2 classroom. The child requires support with managing their wheelchair and using their frames.

Our ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience supporting PMLD pupils in a SEN or mainstream setting
  • Experience of working with students that require medical assistance
  • Moving and Handling trained and a good understanding of P Scales
  • NCFE/CACHE Level 2/3 Supporting and Learning in Schools
  • Patient and nurturing mannerism with a good understanding of de-escalation techniques

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
