Teaching Assistant Level 2 (SEND) Required in Wigan

Level 2 ASC Teaching Assistant required

30 hours per week, term time working 38 weeks per year.

Ince, Wigan, WN2

Are you experienced supporting across KS1? Do you hold a minimum of a Level 2? Are you experienced supporting pupils with Cerebral Palsy?

If so a larger than average primary school located in the Ince area of Wigan previously graded as 'Good' by Ofsted, is currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic, engaging, outgoing Teaching Assistant to work as part of their KS1 team. The role would be to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis assisting them with their daily routine and in class support. The school will be able to provide any additional moving and handling training that may be needed; in order to ensure that you are full equipped with the correct skills in order to complete the role to the best of your ability.

The school aims to create an inclusive environment where all pupils are able to be provided with the skills that they require in order to achieve their full potential. The school is very well resourced both inside and out and is looking for someone who can become a valued member of the supportive team, with a strong team ethic so that everyone is able to support one another to allow everyone to succeed in what they are aiming to achieve, providing the best support for its pupils.

In order for you to be successful for this role you will need to:

  • Be nurturing and patient
  • Be adaptable and flexible
  • Have a good understanding of the early years curriculum
  • Have a strong knowledge of phonics
  • Be experienced working with pupils on a 1:1 basis
  • Experience with either Cerebral Palsy or Physical Learning Difficulties is essential
  • Have strong levels of English and Maths
  • Hold a minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
