Teaching Personnel are requiring an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team of education professionals in York, working within one of our client Schools, specifically with disengaged Secondary aged pupils.

Contract Type: Supply (opportunity to gain a permanent contract)

Employer: Teaching Personnel

Hours: Full time 0830-1530 Monday to Friday (term time only)

Start date: 4th February 2019 or sooner if possible

This is an exciting opportunity, which has just became available for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a 'Good' and forward thinking Alternative School in York. You will be working with pupils who have a diagnosis of SEMH, MLD, GDD or ASC and require additional support on a 1:1 basis.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, or supporting children in an alternative setting
  • Hold relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Degree in Psychology, Early Childhood Studies or similar
  • Be passionate about education and seeing disadvantaged children progress

The School is a popular setting with a waiting list for pupils, located within the Fulford area of York.

To be considered for this role, you must be registered with Teaching Personnel. You must hold a Child Only Workforce DBS registered to the update service, or be happy to apply for a new one through Teaching Personnel. Additionally, we will need to obtain two references from your two most recent education based roles within the last 6 years.
