Teaching Assistant

My client is looking for Teaching Assistants to support in the educational and social development of students from Primary through to Post 16.  Situated in an area of parkland, the school look to meet the needs of children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties with associated and behaviours that may challenge. Successful candidates will be expected to fully endorse and support the inclusive and aspirational ethos of the school through high expectations of staff and students, role modelling behaviours and attitudes to learning.  

Experience & Knowledge:

• Experience of working with disaffected students with emotional and behavioural difficulties and promoting appropriate outcomes. (Desirelable but not essential as training provided) 
• Understanding of engagement techniques to encourage students to focus on learning and development.
• Knowledge of the relevant legislation and guidance about safeguarding, inclusion, equal opportunities and special educational needs.

Position details:

• Full-Time Role 08:30am – 15:30pm (For Supply please see below)
• SEN Teaching Assistant (long-term contract)
• Ages 5 – 19
• SEN – ASC & SEMH (Social, Emotional Mental Health)  
• Daily rate from GBP60 - GBP70 (depending on experience)
• Opportunity to apply for a permanent contract

All Candidates Must:

• Be able to commit to working the hours specified above
• Provide a child only workforce DBS on the update service or willing to pay for a new child only DBS (GBP44) and then subscribe to the update service (GBP13)
• Have no recent criminal convictions/cautions.
• Have a full original birth certificate, full driving licence and/or valid passport.
• If you have been a resident for less than 5 years in the UK a right to work visa (non-EU) and a criminal background check from any country resided in for 6 months or more with in the past 5 years must be provided.
