Job description

Do you have previous experience working in a support capacity with young people aged 11-16?

Our partner Secondary school in the Bury LEA are currently restructuring their support team and wish to appoint a team of Teaching Assistants to join them on a full time basis following the Easter period (or sooner if possible).

Responsibilities

  • Working within the Inclusion department with pupils who have become disengaged from learning
  • Supporting class teachers across KS3 and KS4
  • Delivering 1:1 sessions with identified students to promote learning and raise attainment
  • Working in collaboration with the SENCO to provide support for pupils with SEN
  • Monitoring progress and implementing positive behaviour management strategies

It is essential that the successful Teaching Assistant has previous experience working with pupils across KS3 and KS4, along with knowledge of SEN including ADHD, ASC and MLD.

The intake of pupils with Education Health Care Plans and SEN requirements has increased over the past two academic years, and it is vital that these pupils receive the optimum support to progress through their education. The school currently has 87 identified pupils that require additional support across the age groups.

  • £55 - £65 per day depending upon previous experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
