Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Secondary Teaching Assistants to work across Scarborough and surrounding areas. Being the UK's leading education provider, we work with many secondary schools and colleges in North Yorkshire who require TAs to start during the spring/summer terms.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be required to support learning activities in schools and alternative provisions. You will work with individual pupils or small groups. You will support pupils with a range of abilities and may work exclusively with pupils with special educational needs.

Interviews are being held in March/April for candidates who:

  • Have a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or extensive experience
  • Have a good level of education, GCSEs A*-C (including English and Maths) or equivalent
  • Have excellent levels of communication
  • Are confident and flexible

It is desired the candidate has:

  • An Enhanced Child Only DBS on the Update Service or the ability to apply for one
  • A full, valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour
  • Able to travel across Scarborough and surrounding areas
  • Level 2 Safeguarding

As a TA you will be required to:

  • Deliver tailored teaching activities to pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Make sure that the pupils you support are able to engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity
  • Support the social and emotional development of pupils, reporting any issues when required
  • Support the teacher in managing challenging pupil behaviour and promoting positive behaviour

Pay: £9 per hour (negotiable depending on experience)

Location: Scarborough

Contract: Temporary with a view to go permanent. Part-time and full-time positions available.
