Job description

A school in the Portsmouth area requires a Teaching Assistant to work on a temporary basis. For the role, you will be responsible for helping maintain a supportive classroom environment at an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rated school that focuses on supporting students with severe and complex learning difficulties.

Your Role will involve:

  • Working within the classroom to support the teacher.
  • Working with small groups within the classroom, helping to promote learning.
  • Helping to maintain the early years development.
  • Working with SEN students to help promote an inclusive classroom.

The ideal candidate will need:

  • Be confident, friendly and pro active.
  • Have excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Experience working in a school environment with students with learning difficulties is desirable, but individuals with a passion for helping those with both learning and physical difficulties would also be considered.
  • Be comfortable with delivering personal care including toileting as required.
