Are you looking for full or part time work in a local Blackburn Primary School?

Pay rate: £10.77 - £12.70 per hour

The Head Teacher of this ‘challenging’ yet vibrant Primary school based in Burnley is interested in employing a candidate who is looking for a long-term role and pursuing a career within Education. The role involves delivering interventions with small groups of children in KS1, as booster sessions to help raise their age related expectations particularly in Reading and Writing. You will also be expected to plan small phonics interventions using the Read Write Inc. Phonics Programme, so a good understanding of phonics and early reading is crucial. Your main teaching target will be to help the under achieving children make good progress over each term. The position is to work mornings only at this moment in time with the opportunity to also becoming part of the welfare team during the lunch hour, if this is something that you would be interested in. The role will continue until the end of the academic year and the contract is initially temporary with the potential to becoming permanent.

The school was recently inspected by Ofsted and received ‘Good’ and had ‘Good’ in the previous inspection. The school has a hardworking and dedicated team which the Head Teacher is thoroughly proud of, and he says the staff are ‘the cogs that make the school run like clockwork’. The school is located in Blackburn BB2 and the majority of the children come from White British backgrounds. The Head Teacher has stressed that even though the school can be ‘challenging at times with regards to behaviour’ it is equally ‘rewarding’ with ‘plenty of aspects to progress within your career’

If you are interested in the above role, then please contact Beth in the Preston Primary office or please email over an up-to-date CV.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
