I am looking for passionate and supportive individuals who are looking to become Teaching Assistants or maybe you are already a Teaching Assistant and looking for a new opportunity!

Teaching Assistants are wonderful additions to the education sector. The role entails supporting students throughout their time at school to achieve their full potential. This can be within a class room setting or with hands on life skills in alternative provisions.

Day to day you would attend any lessons or skill development with specific students providing effective support ensuring all students can access the curriculum.

Students who require support have special educational needs. These needs can include Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Downs Syndrome, Specific Learning Difficulties and Speech, Language and Communication needs. This is not an exhaustive list, but identifies some of the needs students may have that require support. Students have a variety of needs and as you develop a working relationship with the children, you will be able to actively identify and implement effective support for students based on their individual needs.

A good candidate would have;

  • An empathetic and calm nature
  • Effective communication skills
  • The ability to identify effective support mechanisms for students
  • GCSE Maths and English minimum of A-C grade
  • Experience with children
  • A Passionate personality
  • The ability to inspire others
  • Resilience
  • Local to Kingston, Twickenham or Richmond Upon Thames

Teacher assistants typically do the following: Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups. Raise overall achievement and involvement in the area or class in which they are working by providing dedicated support in the classroom. Enforce school and class rules to help teach students proper behaviour. Help teachers with record keeping, such as tracking attendance and calculating grades. You may be expected to work in a variety of classrooms, supporting students of various ages and abilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
