General TA needed in Harrogate

A welcoming Primary School in Preston require a candidate who is available to start full-time from the 6th January 2020 initially until the end of the academic year in July, although this is likely to be extended dependent on performance. The school is a 1 form entry school so relatively small in size, and was rated GOOD by Ofsted during their last inspection in 2018. The school has a nice, positive atmosphere and behaviour is on the whole very good. The school require each member of staff to maintain this by sticking firmly to their behaviour policy, which is used to de-escalate the isolated behavioural incidents that take place. The school is a faith school and, whilst staff do not have to be religious themselves, respect and adherence to the Christian ethos of the school is required of the staff they recruit.
What the Head Teacher is looking for…
The Head and SLT are looking for a TA who can confidently apply themselves in a range of year groups across both key stages, as they are looking for someone who can be versatile and fill in where necessary. Experience across a number of primary year groups would therefore be desirable for a school such as this. The role is primarily general class TA work to support the class teacher when necessary, by supplementing the learning of the class and taking more focussed interventions and boosters where necessary. The school have identified Reading as a weakness in both KS1 and KS2, and so any experience in guided reading or interventions would be ideal. The school also has a higher than average SEN intake, and so much of the role will include assisting ASC children and taking them out of class for 1-2-1 support when necessary. The school are happy to consider Graduate TA’s as long as they have at least some experience of working with SEN children – not necessarily in a school setting.

Working through Teaching Personnel…
In taking this role you would be contracted to Teaching Personnel, meaning we will deal with any issues relating to pay, vetting, HR or anything else you may need help with. You will be paid on a weekly basis, and the daily rate of pay will be negotiated and finalised upon offer of the role. You will also have a dedicated personal consultant who will see to any issue that you may have.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
