Teaching Personnel are recruiting a graduate to work in a busy secondary school in Cardiff, this role will be beginning in September 2022. The school are looking for the successful graduate to work as a learning support worker working alongside pupils who are recognised of needing additional support.

This role will be looking for the successful applicant to work on a Monday to Friday basis with a potential of being taken onto a permanent basis further into the role.

This role will require the successful graduate to support one KS3 pupil on a 1:1 basis being on hand for emotional and academic support.

As a learning support worker you will be expected to de escalate pressured situations, provide support within lessons and combat any negative behaviour that the pupil displays. This specific pupil will need someone who can help refocus them during a lesson as they can become frustrated with the work at hand. The pupil has some emotional needs so finds it hard to make friends or engage with staff or other pupils. So the school are looking for someone to help build this pupils confidence with every aspect of school.

The role

  • Start date September 2022.
  • Based in a school in the Cardiff.
  • Supporting a pupils with emotional wellbeing needs as a teaching assistant.
  • Pay is £64.62 per day minimum.
  • Payments are made on a PAYE basis and are made a week in arrears (the following Friday).

To commute to the school, there are public transport links that connect closely to the school including bus and train routes. Alternatively, there is a free onsite car park which is free to use by staff and access to main road and motorways should driving be the preference.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
