We at Teaching Personnel have been contacted by a primary school near the centre of Harrogate who require a Teaching Assistant available to start as soon as possible. If you fulfill the requirements for the role set out above, then read on to find out more as this could be the perfect role for you!

The school in question need someone who is available to start as soon as possible to assist the school until at least the Easter holiday, although the school have mentionned that this could well be extended to the end of the academic year. The school is 2 form entry from Reception through to Year 6, and was rated GOOD by Ofsted during their last inspection in 2015. The head took over the school 3 years ago, and through steady year-on-year progress has raised the school from Requires Improvement. The school is a very lively and positive environment to work, which has improved its behaviour management significantly over recent years, meaning the children are on the whole very polite and well-mannered to eachother and to staff. 

What the school are looking for:

The SLT are looking for a versatile TA who is confident and competent across all primary age groups in KS1 and KS2, as they need a member of staff who can fill in where extra support and help is needed. Experience across a number of primary year groups would therefore be desirable for a school such as this. This role is general TA work supporting the class teahcer by supplementing the learning of the class and taking more focussed interventions and boosters where necessary. The school also has a higher than average SEN intake, and so much of the role will include assisting ASC children and taking them out of class for 1-2-1 support when necessary. The school are happy to consider Graduate TA’s as long as they have at least some experience of working with SEN children – not necessarily in a school setting.

The Head wants to meet 3 candidates for interviews as soon as possible, followed by a trial shift for 2 of these before a final decision is made on who should take the role. 

Working through Teaching Personnel…

In taking this role you would be contracted to Teaching Personnel, meaning we will deal with any issues relating to pay, vetting, HR or anything else you may need help with. You will be paid on a weekly basis, and the daily rate of pay will be negotiated and finalised upon offer of the role. You will also have a dedicated personal consultant who will see to any issue that you may have.
