Are you a Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs?

Then this could be the role for you!

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our current hard-working staff. You could also work with an ASC student on a 1-1 basis within a Mainstream Primary School in Southampton. The school has good public transport links, so owning a car isn't essential however is desirable.

The ideal candidate will have some experience of working with SEN in or out of a school and will have outstanding inter-personal skills. You will need to be patient and sensitive with the ability to encourage and motivate children as well as being able to work effectively in a team. Experience of current phonics/Maths schemes will be advantageous, but not essential, as you will be supporting in core subject areas. We can offer additional training through our CPD Academy and will be running a Team Teach Course during the February half term holiday. You will need to take into account children's learning styles and what motivates them to stay engaged, using positive behaviour management.

Our ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have;

  • experience supporting children on the Autistic Spectrum in or out of education
  • be patient, creative and fun
  • be able to motivate children who are disengaged from their learning
  • be able to support in core curriculum areas
  • have GCSE English/Maths (A-C)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
