Teaching Personnel work exclusively with a 'Good' School in the S12 area of Sheffield. The school has good public transport links, so owning a car isn't essential. After moving into a new site, the school now benefits from fresh, clean resources and designated areas for interventions, as well as a dedicated Early Years Provision with outside area. 

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support some of the more vulnerable children in school. This could be on a 121 or small group basis, working to provide Nurture interventions, Lego Therapy, Sports activities or just a break from the classroom environment. With the nature of this role, you will need experience supporting children with behavioural challenges, or with SEN such as Autism. The successful candidate would require Team Teach training, but this can be offered through Teaching Personnel if you do not already hold the certificate. We are looking for someone who is patient and understanding, able to create a positive and safe environment. We welcome applications from people with experience of Youth Work or a Sporting Background, as we are looking for someone to be a good role model. 


Our ideal Teaching Assistant: 

  • Experience supporting vulnerable children through support work, Youth Work or coaching 
  • Able to manage challenging behaviour - additional training such as MAPA or Team Teach 
  • Experience running Nurture, Thrive, Lego Therapy sessions 
  • Able to support on a 121 or small group basis 
  • Patient and understanding using positive behaviour managment 
  • Experience supporting children with SEN or Autism
